Iranian Quran reciter wins Indian competition

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Quran reciter, Ali-Asghar Shojaei, won first prize for his recital in the Fourth International Quran and Azan Recitation and Memorization Competition.
The three-day competition took place in Hyderabad, India commencing on June 8.
The competition drew participants from India, Morocco, Iran, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka.
Ahmad Traboulsi from Kuwait and Ahmad Nasim from India won the second and third prizes respectively in the recitation section.
In the memorization section competitors from Kuwait, Bangladesh and Morocco were awarded prizes.
After presentation of the awards an Iranian official made a speech entitled “The Quran in Modern Times”.
Hassan Rezaian the international Iranian Quran judge was a member of the jury.
