TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps announced that the main mission of the IRGC is defending the Islamic Revolution of Iran in all aspects.

Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that the key mission of the IRGC is defending Iran against internal threats and aiding the army against foreign military threats.
Iran's Islamic Revolution is an active organization therefore its status has made it subject to harsher threats each day. As a result, the IRGC will alter its strategies in accordance to the dangers pointed at the Iran's Islamic Revolution.
While the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has commanded that half of the mission of the IRGC is on the shoulder of Basij, Jafari concluded that the IRGC puts most of its focus on the Basij volunteer forces.
