Foreign scholars to present papers at Rumi convention

TEHRAN -- Eighty Rumi scholars from 29 countries will present academic papers at the upcoming international Rumi convention.
The convention will be held in Tabriz, Khoy, and Tehran during Iran’s Rumi Week (October 26-November 2) to commemorate the 800th birth anniversary of Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi.
--------Iranian music companies participating in Womex 2007
TEHRAN -- Four Iranian music companies, Sorush, Mahur, Hermes, and Ava-ye Barbad, are participating in the international music expo Womex 2007.
Womex 2007, which is one of the important international professional markets of world music, opened on October 24 in Sevilla, Spain and runs until October 28.
--------“Unfinished Tales” to be screened at SDFF
TEHRAN -- The Iranian film “Unfinished Tales” is to be screened in the Contemporary World Cinema Section of the 30th Starz Denver Film Festival (SDFF), which runs from November 8 to 18.
Directed by Purya Azarbaijani, the film focuses on one night in the lives of three women -- Setareh, Manijeh, and Hengameh.
------Embossed works on display in Niavaran
TEHRAN -- An exhibition of embossed works by Saei Aryan opened at the Niavaran Cultural Center yesterday.
Aryan’s artworks on the themes of Rumi and ancient Iran will be on display at the venue until October 30.
