TEHRAN -- Iran’s national handball team defeated Kuwait 35-34 in the 13th Asian Handball Championship 2008 in Isfahan.

Earlier, Bahrain defeated Iran on Thursday in Isfahan.
Bahrain secured win with a score of 33-32 against Iran. The hosts won the first half but lost the second.
Bahrain's captain Saeed Johar and Jaffer Abdulqader inspired their team in the second half but the match-winning goal was scored by Ahmed Abdulnabi just before the end.
Iranian team defeated China and Lebanon in the championship’s earlier matches.
Iran compete in group A against Kuwait, China, Bahrain, and Lebanon.
Bahrain stands first in the group with 6 points, Kuwait second and Iran third
