TEHRAN -- Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) plans to bring Iranian ethnic minority languages into the limelight by publishing ethnic poetry, the Persian service of CHN reported on Sunday.

The Myth and Ritual Department of CHTHO’s Anthropological Research Center began compiling poems composed in Azeri, Turkmen, Gilaki, Baluchi, Armenian, Taleshi and Kurdish in 2006.
The collected works are to be published in a series of books during the forthcoming Iranian year.
“The poems which have been selected for inclusion in the books are on the themes of national unity, love, and friendship, as wells as divine and mystical subjects,” department director Alireza Hassanzadeh said.
“We also plan to work on poems in Hebrew, Mazandarani and Tati, if necessary funds are provided,” he added.
The books will also contain Persian and English translations of the anthologies.
