TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Tehran’s Azadi Sports Complex is bracing to fete the 30th birthday anniversary of Iran’s legendary weightlifter Hossein Rezazadeh.

Rezazadeh, Iran’s double Olympic champion gold medalist and the world’s strongest man, will turn 30 tomorrow.
The cherubic champion, preparing to muscle in at the 2008 Olympics, is anticipated to win his eighth world and third Olympic medal in Beijing.
Rezazadeh, also titled “the Iranian Hercules”, was born on May, 12, 1978 in Ardebil, Northwest Iran.
The world’s title holder in both snatch and clean-and-jerk is the first Iranian to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals.
Father to a son, Abulfazl, Rezazadeh’s refusal to join Turkey’s Weightlifting Federation and turning down a tempting $20,000-dollar salary per month in return for changing his nationality, has brought him worldwide celebrity as well as unprecedented popularity at home.
“I am an Iranian and love my country and people,” said the champion of the champions, a title he received from the ex-Iranian President Seyyed Mohammad Khatami in 2002.
