TEHRAN -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has officially dismissed Interior Minister Mostafa Purmohammadi and appointed Seyyed Mehdi Hashemi as the caretaker interior minister.

The official farewell and welcoming ceremonies will be held at the Interior Ministry on Monday.
Hashemi currently serves as the director of the (Budget Law) Article 13 Headquarters
