National Museum of Iran launches new website
TEHRAN -- The new website of the National Museum of Iran (NMI) was launched on the occasion of the International Museum Day on May 18.A brief history of National Museum of Iran and the several sections of the museum are included in the website alongside lectures, exhibitions and publications of the museum.

Shirchi to hold exhibits in Europe
TEHRAN -- Veteran Iranian calligrapher Esrafil Shirchi will hold exhibit in Brussels in Belgium, Strasburg in France and Luxembourg City in June.
Over 30 calligraphy pieces will be displayed during the events. Shirchi also plans to hold workshops on the sidelines of the exhibits.
Bani-Etemad visits Fiuzi’s showcase
TEHRAN -- Veteran Iranian director Rakhshan Bani-Etemad paid a visit to Yahya Fiuzi’s artworks at the Niavaran Cultural Center on Saturday.
She said the Persian spirit of Fiuzi’s artworks distinguishes him as an Iranian architect.
Fiuzi’s artworks which are based on numbers and the design of magic squares will be on display until May 30.
“Zero Degree Orbit” to be screened at St Andrews
TEHRAN -- Iranian documentary “Zero Degree Orbit” by Mahmud Rahmani will be reviewed at the University of St Andrews, Scotland on June 14.
Conferences, films and photography exhibitions will also be held by the Department of Social Anthropology, the Institute for Iranian Studies and the Center for Film Studies of the University of St. Andrews to introduce visual art forms of Iran including ethnographic, documentary and feature films and others to students.
The documentary describes the life of an Iraqi family, who reside near Iranian-Iraqi border and their sufferings during various wars in their country.
“Masjed-e Soleiman, 100 Years after Oil” going on show at IPC
TEHRAN -- A photography exhibition called “Masjed-e Soleiman, 100 Years after Oil” is scheduled to open at the Iranian Photographers Center (IPC) on May 24.
Hassan Ghaedi and Mansur Motamedi will present photos taken from the southwestern city of Masjed-e Soleyman marking 100th anniversary of the first oil drilling in the Middle East made at the center of this city.
The exhibit will run until May 31. The venue is located at the intersection of Hafez St. and Somayyeh St., Tehran..
