DUSHANBE – Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev, the speaker of the National Assembly of Tajikistan, and Ali-Asghar Sherdoost, Iran’s ambassador to Dushanbe, on Friday called for the expansion of relations in a meeting in the Tajik capital.

While expressing their satisfaction over the rise in bilateral trade in 2008 compared to the preceding year, the two sides underlined the need to lay the groundwork for enhancing trade and investment.
The Tajik official called for the promotion of parliamentary ties, saying it would help boost trade between the two nations, IRINN reported Friday.
Iran and Tajikistan have many avenues for cooperation, such as the construction of factories through joint ventures, and Iran can also help Tajikistan in infrastructure projects and the promotion of its tourism sector, Ubaydulloyev said
