TEHRAN – Washington Friday prayer leader Feisal Rauf here on Sunday met Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

Rauf pointed out that the Muslims throughout the globe are interested in the Islamic Republic of Iran because of its policies that are based on Islamic thought.
Despite the Israeli attempts to distort the image of Islam, he said, Islam enjoys growing respect in the American society especially after September 11.
Mottaki made a reference to the recent terror attacks in Iraq, saying “The United States should shoulder the responsibility of the terrorist crimes against Iranians in Iraq.”
In a suicide attack inside a crowded roadside restaurant on Thursday in the northeastern Iraqi province of Diyala 54 Iranian pilgrims were killed and many more injured. The following day at least another 20 Iranian pilgrims were killed in a twin suicide bombing at the Imam Moussa al-Khadim shrine in Baghdad.
The foreign minister added that the Barack Obama administration has no alternative except changing its policy.
However, he said, this change will not come about by paying lip service to it. Rather the U.S. officials should show change in action
