S.Korea SK Energy extends HCC investment term to 2016

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea’s top refiner SK Energy has extended its 1.52 trillion won ($1.24 billion) investment period for its hydrocracking center to June 2016 from June 2011, the company said in a report to the stock exchange.
SK Energy in the report attributed the extension to changes in the market environment.The refiner started the investment from June 2008 to build 70,000 barrels per day (bpd) vacuum distillation unit (VDU), 40,000-bpd hydrocracker (HCK) and 40,000-bpd visbreaker (VBU) and other related facilities in the city of Incheon, 50 km southwest of Seoul.
SK Energy gained 1.45 percent to 105,000 won, outperforming against the broader market.
