The U.S. general in charge of training Iraqi troops Frank Helmick said on Thursday he was “frustrated” by the slow pace of his mission’s progress.

Recent bombings on Wednesday were the result of a “lapse of security”, Helmick said.
The general, speaking by video link from Iraq, urged to continue developing the capabilities inside the Iraqi military as fast as possible. Helmick noted that he is not certain about accomplishing all technical sides of training Iraqi Forces before U.S. Forces withdrawal from Iraq end of 2011.
“It's easy to build an infantryman and an infantry unit. It's very, very difficult and it takes time to build an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technician” to analyze surveillance data, he said.
