TEHRAN -- Traffic is responsible for depression and anxiety in 30 percent of Tehrani citizens, a member of Majlis health committee said here on Wednesday.

Pointing to some psychological effects of traffic on Tehrani citizens, MP Bashir Khaleqi blamed heavy volume of cars on the streets for heavy traffic congestion in Tehran metropolis.
Khaleqi said, “A total of 1,000 cars are added to Tehran’s streets every day, and if the current trend continues, improvement in the transportation system will be ineffective.
