KAYHAN in an article on bomb blasts in Zahedan writes that the Supreme Leader in his recent message said that the intelligence services of the U.S., Britain and the Zionist regime were behind the terrorist act against the Muslim people of Zahedan on July 15 with the aim of sowing the seeds of discord among the Shia and Sunni Muslims in Sistan-Baluchestan province. The editorialist says the two bombings outside Jama Mosque in Zahedan reveal the enmity of global arrogance against the Islamic Republic. After his arrest Abdolmalek Rigi (the Jundullah ringleader) admitted that the U.S., Israel and some European governments were encouraging bombings in the province. His brother Abdolhamid Rigi had also acknowledged that these countries were helping criminal acts in the province. Abdolhamid Rigi had remarked all these heinous acts were carried out to display their power in Sistan-Baluchestan province in order to receive more support from Western states.
EBTEKAR in its editorial, addressed to the Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezatollah Zarghami, says people are tired of TV programs which are very tiresome. The writer says: Your Excellency better knows that one of the major tasks of the national TV is to promote joy in the society. Sociologists and psychologists believe that joy and happiness play a key role in social, economic, cultural, and mental health of a society. It is in light of enjoyment that life finds a real meaning. The writer raises questions: What is your (Ezatollah Zarghami) share in the culture of joy among the people? Why don’t you seize the opportunity in the national festivities and joyful religious months?
AFARINESH in its editorial sheds light on airports in countries and says that airports are one of the most outstanding places where the culture and civilization of a country is displayed. The writer says Imam Khomeini International Airport, as one of the greatest airports in the world, is not doing its job properly as it must be. For instance, Iranian and foreign nationals who arrive here for the first time expect efficient services and good treatment. But unfortunately this expectation is not realized. The writer goes on to say that Iran should compare itself with neighbors such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia which are the host to millions of tourists and pilgrims every year.
MARDOMSALARY in its editorial headlined “Government and the Press” writes that press play a highly significant role in societies and according to the Islamic Republic’s Constitution press are considered as the fourth pillar of democracy. The writer says in the past “censorship” meant whatever governments desired to publish or not, but after freedom of opinion got momentum across societies censorship replaced with ‘news bombardment’. The writer goes on to say that it is a long time that advertisement - as a major source of income for running newspapers - goes only to state newspapers and private dailies have faced great financial problems.
