TEHRAN -- Iranian tar virtuoso and composer Ali Qamsari will give a Persian and flamenco fusion concert on December 18 at Vancouver’s UBC School of Music Recital Hall.

Entitled “Andalus”, the concert will be held in three sections with performances based on the musical affinities between Persian and flamenco music, Qamsari told the Persian service of ILNA.
“Since we have limited time for rehearsals, we plan to perform Persian music in the first section which will be followed by flamenco music. The third section of the performance will be allocated to a fusion improvisation,” he added.
Ali Qamsari on tar, Ali Razmi on tar, Piruz de Caspio on flamenco vocals, Tanya Evanson on vocals, Juan de Marias on flamenco guitar, Sina Ettehad on kamancheh and Sunny Matharu on tabla will be performing.
