TEHRAN -- A painting by Sohrab Sepehri, the highest-priced item at Iran’s Seven Views expo, was sold with a hefty price tag of $70,000.

The fourth edition of the expo which opened on November 25 has so far sold over 2 billion rials (about $200,000), as was reported in a press release on Tuesday.
The expo opened with 15 works sold on its first day, the most expensive one belonging to Mohammad Ehsaii that sold at about $35,000. The second work belonged to Farah Osuli and went for $5,000. Shahrzad Ghaffari with her artwork valued at $3,000, and Fat’hollah Marzban at $2,000 came next.
Forty three items by 43 artists have so far been sold. A sculpture by Taha Behbahani was sold for approximately $14,000, a painting by Bita Vakili at $12,000 and one work by Sadeq Tabrizi at about $10,000 came next on the latter days.
Aidin Aghdashlu, Nasrollah Afjehii, Sedaqat Jabbari, Gholamhossein Nami, Farideh Lashaii and Ali-Akbar Sadeqi are among the veterans whose works are on show.
The Aria, Elaheh, Dey, Golestan, Haft Samar, Vali, and Mah-e Mehr galleries are showcasing a collection of paintings, sculptures, calligraphy works, calligraphy-paintings, and other artworks by 224 artists.
The organizers have agreed to extend the expo for several more days until December 13 that is now running at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF).
