JAVAN in an analysis praises Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s participation in Ashura ceremony in Istanbul and his remarks about the importance of this occasion. Ali Akbar Velayati, the senior advisor to the Supreme Leader, was also present in this ceremony. The editorialist says the current relationship between Tehran and Ankara has surpassed from that of ordinary political, economic and diplomatic relationship to one of spiritual and brotherhood. We should not forget that beforehand secularists were in power in Turkey and they were trying to expand relations with the Zionist regime. But now that Islamists have taken over the helm in Ankara, Turkey has adopted new policy toward the Muslim Ummah. The Islamic Republic of Iran, as a key Muslim country, has responded positively to the spiritual message of Turkey. The writer concludes that if the culture of Ashura is fully recognized, the disputes between Shia and Sunni Muslims will prove meaningless.
TEHRAN=E EMROOZ has conducted an interview with the former chief of Securities and Exchange Organization, Dr. Abdeh Tabrizi. He says: It is possible that the government would reduce cash subsidies to industries and instead increase cash payments to the families to upgrade their purchase power. In that case industries like cement and steel companies would suffer heavy losses and even the country may turn into an importer of cement, steel and petrochemical products. Probably the government will increase only the price of gasoline and distribute all incomes gained in this way among the people. I suggest all the cash payments to be deposited in electronic cards so that the low income people would be able to purchase foodstuff and other major items. Even if the price of gasoline does not increase this year, we will witness a rise in energy prices until the end of this government. Due to the current economic recession and sanctions, incomes from increase of energy prices are vital for the government
