TEHRAN- A conference on investment opportunities in Iran’s free trade zones was held in Dubai on June 13, according to the IRNA news agency.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the one-day event, Iranian Senior Presidential Advisor Akbar Torkan said Iran's free trade zones have the potential to act as the export and import gateways in the region, especially for the Persian Gulf countries.

Iran’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammad-Reza Fayyaz, for his part, said that Iran has adopted a sustainable strategy to develop its free trade zones to attract foreign investment and strengthen trade ties with other countries.

On April 14, Bloomberg reported that the most immediate beneficiaries, in case anti-Iran sanctions are lifted, will be banks and developers in Dubai.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries have agreed to finalize a comprehensive deal on Tehran’s nuclear program by the end of June.
