TEHRAN – The Iranian foreign minister has said “if there exists political will to accept realities according to what was agreed upon in Lausanne, there will be a possibility to conclude the talks by deadline or some days after that.”

Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks after bilateral and multilateral meetings with his European counterparts in Luxembourg on Monday.

Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) have set June 30 as the deadline to reach a comprehensive nuclear agreement.

Zarif predicted that the talks in the future days will be difficult and intense.

He said that in his meetings in Luxembourg the ways to expedite the talks for the next “difficult days” were discussed.

He also stated that all the negotiating sides have the political will to move forward.

Iran and the 5+1 group agreed on a framework nuclear agreement in Lausanne on April2 which set the roadmap for a comprehensive deal.
