TEHRAN -- Filmmakers Amir-Reza Sarrafha and Reza Keshavarzi are in the process of making a three-part documentary entitled “The International Physics Olympiad” for IRIB’s (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) Documentary Center.

According to Sarrafha, shooting began on Friday simultaneously with the commencement of the 38th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Isfahan. “We have decided to document the event as it is the first time that Iran is hosting an Olympiad. The film will feature interviews with the organizers and the contestants. It will not simply be an account of events, the crew is trying to incorporate the theme ‘Discover Iran’ into the series,” he added. Cinematographer Saeid Faramarzi, sound recorder Amir Nobakht, film editor Omid Bakhshi and translator Saeideh Mirzaii are among the team. The Olympiad is being held at Isfahan University of Technology and will continue until July 22
