TEHRAN -- Ali Mo’allem Damghani stepped down as director at the Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) after his term expired on Sunday, the IAA announced.

Alireza Esmaeili, an IAA deputy director, has been selected as acting director of the academy.

Mo’allem Damghani has held the position since 2009.
