TEDPIX drops 20,000 points on Saturday

TEHRAN- TEDPIX, the main index of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE), lost 20,420 points to 1.393 million on Saturday.

As reported, over 7.632 billion securities worth 46.896 trillion rials (about $161.7 million) were traded at the TSE.

The first market’s index lost 19,802 points and the second market’s index dropped 26,098 points.

TEDPIX rose 8,000 points to 1.413 million in the past Iranian calendar week (ended on Friday).

The index had risen 131,000 points (10.21 percent) to 1.414 million points in the Iranian calendar week ended on November 11.

As reported, it was the highest weekly rise during the current Iranian calendar year (began on March 21).

After a long period of decline, the stock market transactions finally returned to the upward cycle from the last two weeks and under the influence of the decisions taken by the government and the Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO), and increased the hope of shareholders to invest again in this market and obtain a reasonable return from it.
