Iranian short film “The Quarantine Redemption” at Breck Film Fest

TEHRAN-The Iranian short film “The Quarantine Redemption” by Bahar Dorabadi will be screened at the Breck Film Fest (formerly known as Breckenridge Film Festival), from September 21 to 24, in the U.S.
In its second international presence, the film will have its Western US premiere at the 42nd edition of the festival. It will have a showing on Friday, September 22 at the Breckenridge Theater in Breckenridge, Colorado, IRNA reported on Wednesday.
Written, directed, and produced by Dorabadi, the 13-minute flick is a musical comedy without dialogue, made in 2023.
The story happens during the pandemic quarantine, and shows a misophonia sufferer who is stuck in his small apartment with his noisy wife. As he struggles to maintain his sanity and make it through, the power of music becomes his saving grace. Through a strange synchronization, he discovers a path to redemption.
Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound “drives you crazy.” Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee.
Farid Yousefi and Mina Abdi play in “The Quarantine Redemption,” which had its world premiere at the 32nd Woods Hole Film Festival in the U.S. earlier this year.
