TEHRAN – Nestled in the middle of Gorgan’s lush jungle, Rango waterfall mesmerize nature enthusiasts.

Rango waterfall, situated in a forest of the same name, lies approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Gorgan. This lush forest extends eastward to Naharkhoran and westward to Shast-Kola.

Although the waterfall’s height is not extraordinary, standing at a mere seven meters, its uniqueness lies in its setting within a dreamy forest, creating a truly one-of-a-kind ambiance.

The semicircular basin at the base of the waterfall features several smaller cascades, providing a tranquil space for visitors to immerse themselves in the water.

What makes Rango waterfall a preferred destination for nature enthusiasts is its secluded and pristine environment.

The less frequented location, perhaps due to the moderately challenging trek or the absence of commercialization, adds to its allure.

It resembles a pearl hidden in the heart of a lush forest, surrounded by towering trees, shrubs, and concealed jungle flora, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a touch of adventure.

Springtime unveils a breathtaking display as the melting snow intensifies the waterfall’s flow, creating a mesmerizing spectacle against the backdrop of the vibrant Rango Forest.

Gorgan’s moderate and humid coastal climate enhances the allure of this destination. However, the winds during the summer might pose a slight inconvenience for those unaccustomed to the brisk weather in the forested area around the fall. On the flip side, winter is characterized by cold temperatures, fog, and precipitation, making it less suitable for travel. Nevertheless, the remaining months of the year offer delightful opportunities to experience the charm of this region.

There are many scenic falls and cascades scattered throughout Iran. Certainly, they are not amongst the world’s highest, wildest, or heaviest waterfalls, but what makes them amazing is that they are in a land where its climate mainly varies between arid and semiarid ranges.
