TEHRAN- Tehran Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to perform at the Qaleh Falak-ol-Aflak, a Sassanid-era fortress located in Khorramabad, Lorestan province in Western Iran.

In a signing event on Saturday, an agreement was reached between the Rudaki Foundation, Lorestan Municipality, and the province's General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mehr reported on Sunday.

As per the agreement, Tehran Symphony Orchestra will hold a concert in the historic area, the report added.

The orchestra will present the symphony "Falak-ol-Aflak" composed by Kambiz Roshanravan within the grounds of the ancient Sassanid fortress.

Further updates and details regarding this program will be provided in due course.

Situated in Khorramabad, the iconic Falak-ol-Aflak fortress with its eight towers is an undeniable must-see attraction for tourists, both local and international, in the region.

The monument's grandiosity and splendor are particularly evident in the evening when it is illuminated, granting mesmerizing views of its fortified walls.

Experts draw parallels between the Falak-ol-Aflak fortress and other Sassanid structures like those found in Naqsh-e Rostam, Naqsh-e Rajab, Tape Chugan, and Firuzabad in Fars province.

Iran aspires to obtain UNESCO recognition for the fortress, which spans approximately 300 by 400 meters and stands around 40 meters above its surroundings.
