UK base in Cyprus reportedly hit by missile or drone strike
TEHRAN- Explosions were heard at the British Sovereign Base Area (SBA) of Akrotiri in Cyprus in the early hours of Monday, according to a report by Israel's Channel 14.
Other Hebrew media outlets claimed the impact was concentrated on the fuel storage and supply facilities located within the base perimeter. They suggested that this specific section of the base was actively providing logistical support, including fuel, to U.S. military forces carrying out attacks against Iranian territory.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that British forces are not directly involved in attacks against Iran, but he has agreed that British military assets in the region can be used by the Trump administration to continue aggression against the Iranian nation. Almost all of the U.S.'s own bases and assets in the region have been targeted by Iranian missiles, drones, and fighter jets—which is why Washington may need to use the assets and infrastructure of its non-Arab and non-Israeli allies in West Asia.
