Iran fires strategic Sejjil missiles at Israel for first time
TEHRAN - The United States and Israel pressed ahead with a joint assault on Iran on Sunday, targeting military installations, and civilian areas across Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and western provinces. A strike on a factory in Isfahan alone killed at least 15 people.
The aggression has claimed the lives of 1,500 people since February 28. This includes women and children, with thousands more wounded. Iranian authorities have condemned the attacks as unprovoked and a clear violation of the nation’s sovereignty.
In immediate response, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has continued Operation True Promise 4. According to the IRGC, the operation involved firing projectiles such as Khorramshahr heavy missiles with two-ton warheads. For the first time, the IRGC fired strategic solid-fuel Sejjil missiles against Israel’s military and strategic sites.
The IRGC said the Israel’s key infrastructures influential in its military and defense industries, as well as the gathering places of the regime's military forces, have been successfully targeted.
Iranian forces also struck US military bases in the Persian Gulf region.
Tehran emphasized that the retaliatory strikes were precise, targeting military assets while demonstrating Iran’s readiness and capability to defend its sovereignty.
Iranian officials have stressed that the armed forces will respond decisively to any aggression against Iran’s population, territory, or strategic installations.
Tehran has framed its response as strategic and measured, warning that any further assaults on Iranian cities, infrastructure, or citizens will be met with additional waves of retaliation as part of Operation True Promise 4.
