Rafsanjani: U.S. Not Qualified to Lead the World
November 13, 2000 - 0:0
QOM Expediency Council (EC) Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here Saturday that the U.S. is not qualified to lead the world.
Rafsanjani, speaking at a seminar here, said the American community has been plagued with such problems as domination of the culture of nihilism, self-alienation, shaky family foundations, corruption, violence, insecurity, discrimination, laxity, poverty, pessimism and addiction as well as lack of political growth.
Such a community, which is so shaky and fragile, cannot stake claim to the leadership of the world, he said.
After collapse of communism, that also claimed to be seeking a single global government based on justice, the capitalist system raised the same claim but the fact is that both these systems are incompatible with man's nature, he added.
Rafsanjani said capitalism lacks many qualifications necessary for formation of a single global government.
Elsewhere in his address, Rafsanjani said the U.S. does not want to see Iran, which is an independent and free country fighting the global arrogance and which is located in a region where the vital interests of the U.S. lie, as a prosperous, developed and proud country.
