Iran, Liberia Sign MOU
According to the Foreign Ministry's Press and Information Department, Iran and Liberia agreed to cooperate in the political, economic, cultural and education areas.
Stressing the need for boosting the all-out bilateral relations, the two sides emphasized the exchange of the delegations between them and consultations at the international circles as a way to prepare the grounds for expansion of the bilateral ties.
They commended the idea of the dialogue among the civilizations spearheaded by President Mohammad Khatami while underlining that the dialogue would contribute to confidence-building among states and the establishment of a sustainable peace at the international arena.
The inked MOU stresses the constant communications and contact between the private sectors of the two countries to identify the grounds for boosting the trade ties between them, the organization of the specific reciprocal exhibitions, and participation of the Iranian companies in the development and reconstructions projects in Liberia. It also calls for engagement of Iran in the Liberian sector of fisheries and energy as part of the economic cooperation between the two states.
The Iranian side pledged to provide Liberia with the health and medical substances and the transfer of the academic science to the country.
The Liberian official voiced readiness of Liberia to support the export of the Iranian products to his country for the reexport purposes.
