TEHRAN A pro-reform journalist was released from Evin Prison on Wednesday after posting Rls.200 million in bail, the Persian daily ******Iran****** said on Thursday.

Mohammad-Baqer Bali Beig, a former IRNA Bureau Chief in Tokyo and the managing director of the *****Jame'e Rouz*****, belonging to several reformist columnists, was arrested 11 days ago under the orders of Judge Saeid Mortazavi, the presiding judge of Tehran Administrative Court.

Vali Baig was a leading member of the Islamic Association of Students in the United States.

His wife, Zahra Roghani recently told IRNA that security forces had searched their residence and taken her husband's foreign travel assignment documentation, diskettes, family video cassettes and other ordinary materials.

*****Jame'e Rouz***** Publishing House headed by Vali Beig was sealed off by the Judiciary last July. The building, which used to house the offices of the previously banned dailies ****** Asr-e Azadegan ******* and ***** Akhbar-e Eqtesad*******, also had other commercial entities as tenants.
