TEHRAN Iran will take part in the largest armament exhibition in the Middle East, entitled "Idex 2001", which is expected to be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, from March 18-22.

The official in charge of the Defense Ministry's Export Department, Colonel Hossein Shahbazi-Ja'fari, said that Iran will display its most recent defense industry achievements at the fair.

Pointing to the technological capabilities of the Defense Ministry and the high quality and fair prices of the Iranian-made armament, he added, "Entering the world markets and displaying Iran's defense industry achievements are among the top priorities of the Defense Ministry's Export Department."

Some organizations affiliated to the Defense Ministry such as the Defense Industry Organization, Aerospace Industry, Electronic Industry and Niroo Battery Manufacturing Industry will display their products at the fair.

Some 40 countries including the U.S., Russia, Britain, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Greece will take part in the four-day exhibition.
