TEHRAN Majlis deputies held a 30-minute closed-door session on Tuesday to be informed of the findings of the Investigative Committee dispatched to Russia to study the reasons for the recent plane crash which killed 30 people, including transportation minister Rahman Dadman and seven MPs.

The spokesman of the Majlis Presiding Board, Jalil Sazegarnejad, said that the Investigative Committee report included observations by Russian experts, adding that it has been confirmed that human error caused the accident, but that it could not be determined whether any technical malfunction contributed to the crash until Moscow's technical report was complete.

The deputy head of the Majlis Development Committee, Vali Azarvash, said that the flight of the Yak-40 plane had not been observing International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) flight rules.

Investigative Committee member Mohsen Safaei-Farahani said on Monday that according to the black box recording of the pilot's conversation with the control tower, there was no technical malfunction and the only reason for the plane crash was human error.

Also, Investigative Committee member Captain Farah-Avar rejected all accusations that the plane crashed because it was a "substandard" aircraft.

He said that the national air fleet has been properly maintained over the past two years, but that human error was always possible, adding that the actual cause of the accident was the pilot's lack of self-confidence.
