TEHRAN -- Turkey's new Ambassador to Tehran, Sellahattin Alpar, has been appointed, the Istanbul-based daily **** Hurriyet **** wrote on Thursday.

**** Hurriyet ***** further wrote that upon the approval of his appointment by Turkey's President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Alpar would assume his post replacing former Turkish ambassador to Tehran Turan Morali who, according to the same report, has been given a new post at the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara.

Prior to his Tehran appointment, Alpar served as Turkey's ambassador to Zagreb, Croatia.

According to the daily, Turkey has also replaced its ambassadors to Indonesia, Yugoslavia and Denmark and Croatia.
