Iranian Artist Receives Honorary Certificate in Internet Caricature Contest

TEHRAN TIMES CITY DESK TEHRAN Masoud Shojaei Tabatabaei received an honorary certificate in a contest called "Spatial Tongue in Cheek" held by the Fanoni Internet site in Italy. Kim Maury from Australia won the first prize, Leonardo Arias from the U.S. was second, and Mikhail Zelatkofski from Russia was third. A number of 211 artistic works from 37 countries were evaluated in this contest.

According to reports from Caricature House, which is affiliated to the Art-Cultural Organization of the Tehran Municipality, the Iranian cartoon site was named the best cartoon Internet site of the month by Fanoni, for holding contests, establishing connections between caricature artists all over the world, holding meetings, disseminating news on Iranian caricature exhibitions, and introducing outstanding Iranian artists. Fanoni was recognized as Europe's best caricature Internet site in 2000.
