Ankara Governor Arrives in East Azarbaijan

TABRIZ, East Azarbaijan Province Ankara Governor Yahya Gul, heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, arrived here Saturday evening to take part in the Ninth Tabriz International Trade and Commercial Fair.

The Turkish governor, who is accompanied by a delegation, is to meet Tabriz Governor Yahya Mohammad-Zadeh as well as visit some industrial units in Tabriz.

Some 730 domestic as well as foreign companies from Turkey, Armenia, Italy, Iraq, Russia, Germany, France, the UAE, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Slovenia and Spain will be participating in the fair which is to be inaugurated here Sunday afternoon.

In the first four months of the current year (January-April), Iran and Turkey have exchanged some $416.055 million worth of goods, showing an increase of 36 percent compared to the previous year's figure.

According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute, over the same period Turkey exported some $94.742 million worth of goods to Iran and imported $321.313 million worth from the country.
