PARIS -- Revenge for having been fired from his job was the apparent motive behind Saturday's bungled bank robbery near Paris that left three people dead and six injured, the radio station France Info reported monday, citing police sources. The alleged robber, a 27-year-old French citizen from Chad, had been fired from his job at the Savings Bank in Cergy-Pontoise by the bank manager for allegedly having passed bogus checks. The manager, another bank employee and a motorist were killed during the hostage drama and subsequent chase, during which the assailant fled the bank on foot, dressed in a woman's wig and clothes. He was arrested Sunday, 17 hours after the attempted hold-up.
