AMMAN, Jordan A 123-year-old Jordanian, believed to be the kingdom's oldest man, has died in his southern hometown after three years of poor health, a newspaper reported Thursday. Mohammad Allayyan Katamin died on Wednesday in the Ein al-Beida village near the town of Tafila, 200 kilometers (120 miles) south of Amman, the mass circulation Al-Ra'i newspaper said. It said Katamin, a farmer, was born in 1875.
He was bedridden for the last three years after a fall that fractured his foot. It said Katamin was the oldest of 10 other men and women - all over 100 years - living in the same village. The 10 are still alive. (AP)
