TEHRAN When the Taleban forces occupied Kabul, the Taleban forced many Afghan young women and girls to marry against their will. There are many examples of these marriages in poor sections of Kabul. As the situation changed, Afghan families realized that most of these marriages have had negative repercussions. When the Taleban regime fell, many escaped, leaving their wives and children behind, although some have taken their families with them. Most of the Afghan wives of Taleban members have been abandoned.
