TEHRAN -Vislawa Zimbroska, the Polish woman poet believes that the world has changed since the September 11 events but that the changes may not last for long.

She won the Nobel Prize in literature. She was the 4th Pole to receive a Nobel Prize.

In an interview with the Japanese Kyodo news agency, when asked whether the world situation would improve, she replied, "Of course, this century is supposed to be a difficult century. Many good and bad things will happen like in the 20th century."

She added, "Describing the 20th century in one word is hard. It was a time of horrible wars and the rule of terrifying governments, but of course, it was a time when many sciences were developed which greatly benefited humanity. I guess the upcoming century will be the same."

Vislawa Zimborska was born in 1923 in western Poland and is one of the most famous Polish poets. She was a critic and used to write articles in support of workers. She writes political poems and love poems.

Asked if art is able to stop war, she answered, "It is not possible. Art can never prevent war and other events. I believe that artists are well aware of this fact, but this should not make them forget their responsibilities." She also believes that human civilization is leading to both scientific development and barbarity.

She composed a poem entitled "A Photo from September 11" after seeing a photo of the events of that day. She also expressed her feelings about terrorism in one of her poems.

Her amazing creativity and imagination in composing poems inspired the Nobel Prize committee to call her the "Mozart of Poetry."

Zimborska hopes that in the 21st century people and nations love each other in a simple way.

She believes that readers of poetry are good people whose minds are open to the thoughts and ideas of others.
