TEHRAN -- President Mohammad Khatami in a message congratulated his Azeri counterpart Heydar Aliyev as well as Azeri people on Azerbaijan's national day, it was reported on Monday.

President Khatami said in the message that he was confident that in light of joint efforts of Iranian and Azeri officials, relations between Tehran and Baku would further expand.
