Iran, Cuba cruise into world freestyle wrestling final

TEHRAN – Iran and Cuba squeezed into the final of the 2006 World Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Sari, capital of northern Mazandaran Province, Saturday night.
The home team managed to narrowly beat old foe Russia 14-12 in a packed Seyyed Rassul Hosseini Hall and Cuba hammered Ukraine 18-8.
Iran and Russia had earlier outpointed Turkey 27-9 and 22-7 respectively.
The rejuvenated Iranian team and powerful Cuba fight for the coveted title and Russia and Ukraine meet for bronze medal Sunday.
