Zarif reiterates cooperation with UN on Afghanistan

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday reiterated Tehran’s support for peace and stability in Afghanistan, saying Tehran is ready to cooperate with the United Nations to help meet the needs of Afghanistan.
“Iran seeks stability in Afghanistan and has made efforts in this line,” he said during a meeting in Tehran with Tadamichi Yamamoto, the special representative of the United Nations secretary general.
He also highlighted the necessity of fighting terrorists given the defeats of Daesh in Iraq and Syria.
