TEHRAN – Iran’s mobile phone imports fell 15 percent in volume and 21 percent in value in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 2025-January 2026), customs data showed.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), a total of 7.498 million handsets worth $1.457 billion were imported from the start of the year through the end of the 10th month (Jan. 20).
The figures compare with nine million units valued at $1.8 billion imported during the same period of the previous year.
The decline reflects weaker demand and tighter import conditions, with mobile phones remaining one of the country’s major non-oil import items.
