    Iran says may limit death penalty for drug traffickers to lords 

    TEHRAN – The secretary of Iran’s Human Rights Council has said Tehran may reconsider capital punishment for drug smugglers, limiting it to drug lords only, seemingly a setback from a tougher stance taken previously.

    UN human rights chief remarks draw Tehran’s ire 

    TEHRAN – Iran’s Human Rights Council has rejected remarks by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as “untrue,” saying Iran’s human rights policy has fundamentally been premised upon “transparency as well as constructive and logical” cooperation.
