Traffic-related deaths increased by 9.6% in 6 months
TEHRAN – Traffic-related accidents have claimed the lives of 8,644 Iranians during the first six months of this year (March 21-September 21), which shows an increase of 9.6 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Legal Medicine Organization.

Coronavirus halves road accident casualties in Iran

Each fatal accident brings $1.2m loss: Traffic Police chief
TEHRAN – The country burdens heavy loss of 51 billion rials (around $1.2 million) per fatal road crash, Seyed Kamal Hadianfar, Traffic Police chief has announced. He explained that during the first 4 months of this year (started March 21), 53 percent of people get killed immediately at the crash scene, while 6 percent of deaths happened on the way to hospitals.

Distracted driving main cause of road accidents last month
TEHRAN – Distracted driving was the main cause of traffic-related accidents being responsible for 34 percent of the crashes happened during the Iranian calendar month of Khordad (May 22-June 21), Nader Rahmani, a senior traffic police official has said.
