TEHRAN -- The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament has released the full text of the bill which calls for the imposition of sanctions on 26 U.S. officials who have been involved in human rights violations.

Earlier on Tuesday, MP Kazem Jalali, the committee spokesperson, announced that the generalities of the bill have been approved and that the details of the plan would be endorsed in the next session of the committee.
According to the bill, the sanctions would include assets freeze and travel ban on the officials in question.
In addition, the bill stipulates that the Iranian Judiciary must try these officials in the courts of the country on charges of crimes against humanity, human rights abuses, and drug smuggling.
The national prosecutor general would be obliged to submit the list of those officials and the relevant documentation to the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry would also be tasked with overseeing the implementation of the process at international forums.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) must enlighten world public opinion about the atrocities that these people have committed.
Moreover, a committee will be set up of representatives from the Intelligence Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, IRIB, National Police, the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee as well as the Majlis Legal and Judicial Committee to make sure that the provisions of the bill are implemented.
The national prosecutor general will chair the committee.
The committee should give a regular report on its activities to the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee
