Iran, Jordan Review Expansion of Parliamentary Ties

AMMAN -- A member of the Majlis (Parliament), Zabihollah Safaei, submitted here on Thursday the message of Majlis Speaker Mahdi Karrubi to his Jordanian counterpart on expansion of bilateral Ties. . In his message, Karrubi also invited his Jordanian counterpart to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, the two sides explored possible avenues for bolstering of bilateral cooperation in various parliamentary fields, IRNA reported.

The two sides also discussed the Palestinian issue and stressed on the need to support the goals of the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, the speaker of Jordan's Majlis al-Umma (National Assembly) emphasized on exchange of delegations between the two countries' parliaments and underlined its positive impact on expansion of Iran-Jordan ties.

Iran's Ambassador to Amman Nosratollah Tajik was also present in the meeting.
