Kidd and Carter lead free-scoring Nets past Grizzlies
The win also snapped a three-game losing streak for New Jersey (8-12), and allowed the Nets to stay top of the Atlantic Division standings despite their sub-.500 record.
Vince Carter also set a franchise record with nine three-pointers on the way to 37 points and New Jersey tied a team record by making 15 shots from beyond the arc in 30 attempts.
Kidd picked up his 79th career triple-double to move ahead of Wilt Chamberlin on the all-time list. He finished with 12 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds.
The Nets shot 48 percent from the field, held the Grizzlies to a season-low 10 points in the first quarter and led 52-38 at the half. It was just the third win in 11 games for the Nets, who have had trouble getting production from their bench players this season.
Richard Jefferson had 16 points for the winners and Nenad Krstic added 14, New Jersey soaring to an 18-point lead at the end of three quarters before coasting to victory.
Chucky Atkins led the Grizzlies with 26 points but Memphis lost their third straight game and eighth in 11.
