TEHRAN -- Iran’s Rasm Publication Institute plans to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the publication of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s outstanding work “One Hundred Years of Solitude” (1967) by holding a poster and illustration exhibition.
The exhibition entitled “Forty Years -- Gabriel Garcia Marquez” will focus on posters and illustrations with themes such as Marquez’s eightieth birthday, Marquez and magical realism, and the fortieth anniversary of the publication of “One Hundred Years of Solitude”.
The submitted items will be judged in mid-February and the selected entries will be put on display in an exhibition at the Mirmiran Gallery of the Iranian Artists Forum on April 14, concurrent with the Colombian novelist’s visit to Iran.
The Colombian Embassy in Tehran and the Iranian Foreign Ministry are making arrangements for the trip.
