TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the Iranian nation will land a punch on the enemy’s mouth on March 2 with their massive turnout for the parliamentary election.

The Leader made the remarks in an address to thousands of people from the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan at a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.

In his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “The people’s turnout for the election can make the country progress, protect it from the harm of the enemy, make the enemy uncertain about its conspiracies, and make the enemy retreat. A vibrant election will give the enemy a strong punch on the mouth.”

He went on to say that the enemies are seeking to put a damper on Iranians’ enthusiasm to participate in the election.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that the enemy is making efforts to suggest that the people have lost faith in the causes of the Islamic system.

However, the Iranian nation thwarted all conspiracies with their massive participation in the rallies that were held on the 22nd of the Iranian calendar month of Bahman, February 11, to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of 1979, he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Future generations will witness many great and significant things. The world will undergo a major upheaval. The prevailing hegemonistic and materialistic policies… will gradually wane… And this is the future of the world.”
